Our sustainability pledge
Larking Gowen has a commitment to sustainability. As part of this, we have formed a Sustainable Development Group committee, (known as ‘Leading Green’). This committee is tasked with looking at what we do and researching and actioning changes to the firm’s carbon footprint and well as looking at wider aspects, including how we can operate within the official “UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals framework”. Our focus is to be Net Zero by 2030.
There’s a lot to consider. There is the ‘small stuff’ – some of which we’re already doing, but there are the bigger things to consider, too.
We’re mapping our current carbon footprint, looking into greener solutions for our energy providers and will be extending this to include researching all our suppliers. We already work closely with our clients and moving forward we’ll be helping clients understand the benefits of sustainable practices within their own businesses.
We’re already committed to Corporate Social Responsibility work within our community. We’ll look to focus that commitment by supporting groups and organisations who are also working towards the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals, thereby helping towards a positive impact on issues that affect climate and environmental change.
Our Leading Green committee is made up of volunteers from all levels and departments across the firm. Together, embracing their passion, our goal is to set out and agree our future activity, and bring together all of the sustainable activities from across our six offices into one joined up approach.
I was extremely proud of the response we had for applications to join the committee. I believe that we have a strong, energised team with a wide variety of skills and experience, with a common goal that will encourage everyone to get involved and think more about how efficiently they are working— and indeed living.
We’re committed to carbon neutral, committed to our community, and committed to our future.

Sustainable Development Group Lead
