Suffolk’s most inspirational women

Larking Gowen has joined businesses across the region to support ‘Inspiring Women’ – an initiative by the East Anglian Daily Times to honour 100 inspirational Suffolk women, as part of celebrations marking 100 years of votes for women.

“Women’s equality has come a long way in the last 100 years. It’s great to see the work of these extraordinary women being honoured as part of the EADT’s 100 Inspiring Women project,” says Larking Gowen partner, Becky Ames.

“At Larking Gowen, gender equality is central to the wellbeing of our staff. We support female team members throughout their careers, offering industry-leading flexible working, and encourage women to strive for leadership roles. As a result, we have a strong female leadership team, in what has been a traditionally male-dominated sector,” she adds.

The women chosen for the final list of 100 women, announced at a special event at Milsom’s, Kesgrave Hall this week, come from business, arts, culture, sport, the public sector, the third sector and those who have performed distinguished public service.

“As we celebrate the centenary of the first women getting the vote, Inspiring Women encourages the next generation of women, and the businesses that employ them, to continue to strive for full equality,” concludes Becky.
